I’m sick and tired of criticisms of our generation.
Assuming we’re all hoodlums or
“Absorbed” in technology or
Just plain lazy.
“These kids these days are always on their phones.”
At least we like each other.
We advocate for one another.
And advocate for change.
You see, a few, or maybe 62 years ago,
Acceptance was rare.
Nerds? No friends.
Weird? No friends.
White? White friends.
Black? Black friends.
Unity was uncommon.
And I think it’s pretty damn cool,
How acceptance is a new era.
And I’m sick and tired of misconceptions.
Bags of chips always seem to be 50% air.
And who cares what music we listen to?
“These kids have no taste in music, but we used to listen to the good stuff. All they listen to is rap hoodlum stuff.”
I listen to absolute trash, I’ll admit that.
But I’m no hoodlum.
And I’m sick and tired of having my intelligence questioned.
And my capabilities doubted.
And I’m tired of having to make so many decisions
Right now
That affect the rest of my life,
But I still have to use “bathroom passes” to get permission
Just to use the restroom.
And man, I’m tired of time moving fast.
Time, hold up.
Just chill for a moment. I wanna enjoy this,
And I’m tired of grocery stores always being so cold.
I just shaved my legs today.
Crap.
